Pacific Northwest Modern

This modern escape is nestled into a hillside. In keeping with the cool overcast local weather, a range of smoky colors was selected. For the exterior and public spaces of this house no paint was used. A variety of treatments bring together the palette of materials. The black was achieved by burning the wood, the oak inside was fumed, not stained and the stainless steel windows were acid etched to achieve an iridescent gray.
